Story of Trinity
The Development of the Portless Trinity
The Beginning of the Concept (March 2023)
The design of the Portless Trinity began in March 2023.
The primary motivation behind the new model was the earlier Portless Speedy, which belonged to the same category.
Because the Speedy’s hull was in full contact with the water, contrary to expectations, the boat proved to be sluggish and unstable. Similar structural issues were encountered with the initial catamaran concept, leading the Portless team to enter the world of trimarans and design their first trimaran vessel.
Key design priorities included:
- Improved agility and stability
- License-free operability
- Easy and fast assembly

First Sketches and Prototype
Thanks to the work of O. László, the first design drawings were created, followed shortly by the first prototype.
As the Portless Trinity was still in a very early development stage, the team immediately began testing. The hull proved to be agile and stable, however, despite theoretical calculations, the roof structure showed instability, requiring modifications before market release.
Learning from Experience – First Generation
Learning from the initial shortcomings, the design team developed the Portless Trinity – 1st Generation.
In this version:
- The rear column was made from drop-stitch material
- The roof stability increased dramatically
With minor refinements, the second iteration of this generation received:
- A redesigned stainless-steel engine mount
- A custom-built helm station
- A new telescopic ladder to facilitate access to the roof
The Portless Trinity 1st Generation quickly gained wide recognition, becoming a core fleet model for rental companies and a favorite summer leisure boat for private owners across Spain, Switzerland, Romania, and many other countries.

Customer Feedback and Continuous Evolution
New ideas and customer feedback naturally led to a new generation. Based on user input, it became clear that the Trinity still had room for refinement, prompting the engineering team to return to the drawing board.
At Portless, we believe that the true value of a product lies in the details.

The Third Generation – Refinement Through Detail
With a series of precise, detail-focused improvements, the third generation of the Portless
Trinity was born, including:
- Custom ladders manufactured from chrome-plated steel
- Improved helm station mounting
- Additional grab handles
- Perfectly fitted EVA deck padding throughout
- Installation of overpressure relief valves
The third generation entered the global market simultaneously with the second generation, making these models available not only in Europe, but also in the USA and Australia.
