The Beginnings
The history of Portless boats began in 2020. That was when founder O. László came up with the idea of a portable boat that could be stored anywhere on Lake Balaton, as marina prices had skyrocketed. Soon, the right technologies appeared, and SUPs (stand-up paddleboards), which were becoming popular in Europe, provided the raw material. In 2021, the first generation was manufactured in a Slovenian factory.
Start of Independence
In 2022, Tamás G. joined the company and immediately saw the potential in the new form of shipping. After joint developments and models, the Portless team took over the entire development and manufacturing process: they abandoned the gluing technology and switched to a more durable welding solution, thus increasing the lifespan and warranty of the products.
Own Palette
Portless, which made its debut on the Hungarian market, quickly attracted the attention of European buyers. After its first model (Trinity), the team responded to customer demand by developing a more spacious boat with more storage space: following the success of the DeLuxe 1st Generation, they launched the DeLuxe II, the world’s first inflatable boat with a built-in outboard motor. Its mobility remained unchanged: when packed, it fits on two EU standard pallets. The independent Portless International Kft. was established at the end of 2022 to sell the second generation, taking over all manufacturing and sales from DDD Manufaktúra Kft.
Third Generation
In just under a year, the Portless team continued development, perfecting existing models and introducing the third generation. The two previous models were followed by the most compact Portless boat, the Dinghy. With a complete product range, it confidently entered the European market, serving customers independently.
In International Waters
In January 2025, we successfully presented the third generation of Portless boats at the boot Düsseldorf world exhibition. This marked a new chapter in Portless’ history as we began international sales. First, the American market was opened, followed by the Australian market. By the end of 2025, it will be possible to experience Portless on three continents! Shortly thereafter, the Portless delivery service was launched, allowing our customers to choose delivery within Europe, including assembly!
