2025 Budapest Boat Show
Portless Double Success
After Düsseldorf, a Sold-Out Triumph at Home for the Electric Inflatable Catamaran
Budapest Boat Show & Caravans Salon 2025 – Event Report
In the history of Portless boats, it has become a tradition to present the latest models, developments, and color options at the Budapest Boat Show at the beginning of each year. 2025 was no exception.
Following the Boot Düsseldorf exhibition, where thousands of international visitors admired the electric, solar-powered boats at the world’s largest inland boating show, the Hungarian team returned almost immediately “home” to Hungexpo.

Strong International Momentum, Even Stronger Domestic Presence
“There was enormous interest in Düsseldorf, but exhibiting at home always feels special,” said Tamás Giricz, co-founder of Portless. “Here, people know the brand, they understand that this is a Hungarian development, and they clearly see why a boat that can be inflated in 15 minutes, fits into the trunk of a station wagon, and can be operated without a license on Lake Tisza or Lake Balaton makes perfect sense.”
Perfect Timing: Boats Meet Caravans
One of the most interesting aspects of the 2025 Budapest Boat Show was that it ran in parallel with the Caravans Salon, Hungary’s major motorhome and camping exhibition.

This created perfect synergy:
- Visitors interested in freedom, mobility, and outdoor lifestyles
- Walking between two stands
- Imagining both a motorhome and a Portless boat as part of the same lifestyle
It comes as no surprise that record numbers of boats were sold in the weeks following the exhibition. Many visitors originally arrived to explore motorhomes, but left with a complete “land + water” mobility package.

Customer Perspective: Simplicity Makes the Difference
“I had been looking at electric boats for years, but I always thought they were either too expensive or too complicated,” said Gábor B., a new Portless owner who finalized his purchase at the Boat Show. “At the Portless stand, they explained everything in 10 minutes, and the very next day we were testing our own boat in Abádszalók.”

A Clear Message for the 2025 Season
For the Portless team, the start of the 2025 season delivered a clear message:
the Hungarian market is no longer just accepting, but is actively seeking sustainable, smart, and practical water-based solutions.
After world-class exposure in Düsseldorf, the team returned to:
- A fully packed stand at home
- Satisfied new owners
- Countless shared photos and conversations
This is how Portless said goodbye to winter and welcomed the 2025 boating season.
